Medications Overview

Recovery Outfitters recognizes the importance of therapeutic medications in treatment. It is not uncommon for addicted individuals to also have other diagnoses, such as depression, PTSD, ADHD, and bi-polar disorder. Therefore, our clients meet with our Medical Director and Board Certified Psychiatrist, Dr. Steven Jaffe on a regular basis not only to discuss their addiction disorder, but to discuss their program, any other psychiatric conditions, their medications and any medical problems they may be experiencing.

Our program treats ALL types of substance and alcohol abuse. Some of the medications we use in conjunction with our other treatments:

Opiate Addiction Medications

Dr. Jaffe and Recovery Outfitters also offer Naltrexone (in both pill form and injectable form, “Vivitrol”) maintenance for the treatment of opiate dependence. It is frequently used in individuals with a history of opiate over-dose, as it counteracts the effects of opiates. Click here to read more about Naltrexone.

Alcohol Addiction Medications

Dr. Jaffe utilizes Naltrexone (in both pill form and injectable form, “Vivitrol”) to decrease the cravings for alcohol. After you quit drinking, Naltrexone may help you stay sober for a long time. Click here to learn more about Naltrexone.
